"Let her cry"; "you should not carry your baby all the time"; "if you
hear she cries and you come to hold her, you will spoil her"; or my
favorite is "you must let your baby cry it out."
Those are the sentences I hear from friends or acquaintances, honestly I don't think we can bear to hear our baby cries it out.
I
watched some German TV program (I think on RTL), saying that carrying,
holding, hugging or cuddling your baby when she cries is actually
showing your baby that we care, and let her feel secure.
In
America, there are even people work as cuddlers in hospitals. They
cuddle the babies, because the parents can't (Mom just got a surgery
etc).
Hold your baby when she cries also bond the
connection between baby and parents. So, don't hesitate to hold your
baby when she cries :)
