Hold or don't hold?!?!

"Let her cry"; "you should not carry your baby all the time"; "if you hear she cries and you come to hold her, you will spoil her"; or my favorite is "you must let your baby cry it out."
Those are the sentences I hear from friends or acquaintances, honestly I don't think we can bear to hear our baby cries it out.

I watched some German TV program (I think on RTL), saying that carrying, holding, hugging or cuddling your baby when she cries is actually showing your baby that we care, and let her feel secure.
In America, there are even people work as cuddlers in hospitals. They cuddle the babies, because the parents can't (Mom just got a surgery etc).

Hold your baby when she cries also bond the connection between baby and parents. So, don't hesitate to hold your baby when she cries :)

Is crying good for your baby's lungs?

Friends and some random people I just met always say that crying is good for our daughter, Mackayla's lungs.
Honestly, I don't believe that at all. I don't see any connections between my crying baby and her lungs.

I think babies cry for a reason; they might be hungry, their diaper is wet, they feel uncomfy, they are in pain or they need some attention, or sometimes they don't even know what they want, but there is something. They may need to vent, suck, or just be comforted.

Of course I let Mackayla cry, but then I come to her and check on her again. I don't think that if you let your babies cry too long is good for them physically and emotionally.

As you baby cries, her arms and legs tighten, her mouth gets dry, her lips start to turn blue, her lungs probably ache, her blood pressure goes up, the veins in her head may swell and even break, and her blood oxygen level starts to go down, not up.

So, crying is good for your babies?!?! NOT TRUE!

Naming baby and baby names

source: gazettelive.uk
I have to say, it is not easy to name your baby. You want something special, meaningful and not everybody has the same name.

I remember when we picked a name for our daughter, Mackayla, it took months.

There are tips to pick up baby names:
1. Check some baby naming websites for inspiration. My favorite website is www.behindthename.com

2. I don't name my kids with names which are in. I don't want it when they go to school and the teacher calls the name and everybody raises their hands.

3. If your last name is very long, don't pick a long first or middle name :)

4. Have fun picking your baby names!
